Do the harem members that already exist get character development or does the harem just keep expanding with people 24/7?

Actually, both. As you may have noticed the harem is increasing with new characters in each volume. But also at the same time, we are getting character development such as with Gerald, Nicole, Keith, and Maria. Unfortunately, the old cast doesn’t show as much as before, it’s mainly Maria, Sirius or Gerald who are around most of the time.

Are there new action things going on that aren’t kidnappings?

lol I can’t agree more. Luckily we got non-kidnapping events with the ministry of magic cases. Now it switched from kidnapping to dark magic-related issues. + crimes in neighboring countries.

how do you feel the writing has changed during the years?

Mhmhm hard to judge at the moment, mainly because I read the volumes last 4 months or something so I kind of forgot how it felt like. As for volume 9 I’m reading it in parts because I don’t have much time so it’s really hard to judge.

One thing non-writing related I remember complaining about is that the illustration number is decreasing rather than increasing :/

Does she end up marrying Geord?

Nothing has been decided. No. 

Gerald himself said that he (and Ian) can’t get married because Jeffery isn’t married yet. Otherwise, Gerald will be involved in the throne fight, which is something he completely refuses for his and Katarina’s sake. 

Again, if Gerald really decided to go for the Throne because of what’s happening then he will more likely get married to Katarina soon because there’s nothing to really stop him anymore ( especially if the Katarina want to be queen thing is true ). Honestly, I don’t see this coming so easy so it’s a very low chance to happen. + how on earth the other will allow it. Personally, When and if this happens I will consider the series near the end.
