A cold sweat began to form on her brow and a chill ran down her spine. Every instinct within her screamed to get the hell away from this scene as it painfully unfolded, but she felt paralyzed. Her breath hitched in response, despite his threat being directed not towards her, but to the cowering figure beyond her vision.
